Hello, I’m Rebecca.
I’m a medical doctor (GP), educator, clinical academic, coach & mentor.
have been a doctor for 18 years. In this time I have worked in a wide variety of fields of medicine and have now been a qualified GP for over a decade. In addition to my years of clinical experience & insight, I bring enthusiasm, commitment and innovative thinking to everything that I do.
I am passionate about supporting health & wellbeing through teaching, mentoring, and coaching as well as through the practice of medicine.
My Background
I was born in the North West of England and moved to the Midlands to attend medical school at Nottingham University. I qualified as a doctor in 2006 and spent the following six years working in a variety of fields of medicine (including psychiatry, paediatrics, surgery and emergency medicine) before qualifying as a GP in 2012.
I have always had a passion for education and for workforce support and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education. I have held a number of roles in both undergraduate & postgraduate education (including GP Specialty Training Programme Director) and I am currently a Clinical Sub Dean & Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham.
I have held a number of leadership posts locally & regionally - some of these are listed below.
I have had a longstanding interest in adolescent health and wellbeing and am now collaborating with schools to provide support for teachers and secondary school students via The Student Wellbeing Doctor.
I have undertaken coaching and mentoring training and have completed a Coaching Diploma programme specifically for doctors. I now offer coaching & mentoring privately as well as for other organisations.
I now have a portfolio career involving education, academic work, GP appraisal work and coaching/mentoring in addition to my medical work.
I live in Nottinghamshire with my husband and young son.
